It reminds me a bit of Fallen Enchantress in some ways (the entire customizable thing and making together base stuff from a bunch of different aspects) only. I really hope this game will follow more steps of aow3 than Planetfall (which was huge disapointment and like two years ago when I quit PF game was still unplayable on competitive level, unless you stripped it to just bare bones and throw all fun content into trash) I remind the mechanics I suggested years ago, when battle is happening during world map turns (like every XY turns in battles one turn in world map passes), which allows either side to bring reinforcements to ongoing battle, which join the battlefield after some delay.ħ) Battlefields feels kinda messy, but I guess this still might change, till game is released Damage in aow3 cant be avoided (except luck mechanics, which is worst mechanic in game and reason why halflings are so hated race - whenever you play for them or against)Ĥ) I really hope there is production overflow - one of main things that aow3 is missingĥ) Im curious if they solved the issue with limited stacks in battle, as well as stack-splitting and fastclick on simultaneous turns. It still seems to be % based (at least for ranged) and it feels terrible when your sniper in PF miss his 90% chance and instead of huge damage does 0. It might leads to major PF issue with map, if there are similarly important structures.ģ) Other bad habit from PF is hit chance. Im curious how it goes.Ģ) Im not really happy about sector solutions to city growing (at least it seems its gonna be similar to planetfall). I like variety of options in general, but on first look it seems pretty impossible to balance. If morale gets low enough it can cause all the units in a fight to flee. (or having a button that can toggle this setting would be great. I kind of wish all units just had 32 movement points on the strategic level. Movement 40 units can be really annoying in mps. Only one faction can instantly mod units, making assembly more broken in simultaneous games (where other factions need 2 turns to mod, and have reduced strength while modding). A single turn out of action is all you need to remove most of the exploitation surrounding hero item trading. Instantly transporting and trading hero items is pretty broken. SECTORS LOOK SMALLER like 6 hexes, instead of 12.įorward outposts could use another resource other than influence. Trading sectors with anyone creates a forward outpost without using influence. Limitation on operations cast by allies in fight? Things from Planetfall I hope they change: Less powerful temporary summons (like the constrictor) Targeting obstacles for higher hit chances on jumping attacks and/or aoes? (could move into things i would like changed) Road building with sectors works really well and is fun. Status effect check (included leader and t4 extra resistance relative to t1) Special resource for modding (like cosmite)Īccuracy (more predictable, less rng than previous combat systems.
